Wood is a natural element that will expand and contract with moisture and humidity. Grain variations will vary from board to board, making your purchase truly one of a kind. The boards shown on this website cannot be replicated 100% due to this natural characteristic. Consistent care for your board will ensure it will last for generations and become a heirloom for your family decades to come. Critical care instructions are as follows:
1. Wash with warm soapy water and dry immediately with a dish towel. Place upright and let dry completely for a minimum of 6 hours. Do not store horizontally on a flat surface, as the chances for warping and twisting increase. Try to store vertically.
2. Condition your board monthly, or whenever it starts to feel dry and not smooth to the touch. Apply a thin layer of Home Revival and Decor's board wax, let sit for several hours and buff excess off with a lint free towel or rag.
3. Do NOT place it in the dishwasher or subject to high heat for an extended amount of time.
4. If for any reason the grain raises and the surface does not feel smooth, you can restore it by sanding with 220 grit sanding paper and reapplying the board wax.
