Currently our stock of walnut and cherry lumber is sourced directly from my property here in Shenandoah County.

Our maple lumber has been sourced from two different local lumber yards | Alexander Brothers in Timberville, VA and Todd Timberworks in Fort Valley, VA |

Our purple heart stock is purchased from McFarlands Mill in Winchester, VA.

Small varieties of other lumber are also available like spalted sycamore, rainbow poplar and padauk. Multiple different species for custom pieces can also be acquired, just ask!

Epoxy resin is a synthetic polymer that is used in the aerospace, automotive, construction, manufacturing and more recently woodworking!

It can be used as an adhesive, coating or filler due to its strength, durability and ability to withstand moderate temperatures. The resin cures into a hardened plastic. Resins are frequently used in today's world by artists for a wide range of applications including woodwork, countertops, shower panels, jewelry and pictures to name a few. We use a coating style epoxy for mantles, countertops and shower panels.

For woodworking voids and river tables we use a casting style epoxy.

Finishes vary from project to project. Every type of finish has its own niche. Whether it be polyurethane, epoxy resin, mineral oil, tung oil, varnish, wood wax, shellac, etc.

Our cutting boards are finished with a mineral oil plunge, followed by 2 coats of board butter that is made in house. Our board butter consists of fractionated coconut oil, mineral oil and beeswax. For our charcuterie boards, they are finished with 100% pure tung oil. Unlike mineral oil, tung oil is polymerizing and cures as a hard “permanent” film to protect the wood.
